#4~ A slice of MY life

All night my stomach ached so bad i could not lie straight on the bed. Curled up on the bed i could not stop moaning. I could not stand it any longer. It was about 5am on a Sunday morning and i got the strength to get up and wake my mom. I told her that the pain in my side was so excruciating…. i couldn’t even explain it. She called the doctor and he said to take me to the emergency room. After three cat scans they came to the conclusion that my appendix was inflamed and i had to go into surgery as soon as possible. Awakened by the beeping of my heart rate i realized where i was. The recovery room. I will never forget what the nurse said when she noticed i was awake. “You made it!” , the calm feeling of it was all over.

#3- The Recession

The recession that our country is in is not only affecting the poor but also the wealthy. People all over have to budget more than usual and cut out the extra necessities that aren’t the essential part of living. Its is becoming harder and harder for teenagers to find a job, as older men and women are on the search for employment as bigger corporations are having to let go of people to avoid bankruptcy. Fun things like snowboard trips on the weekends, leisure shopping sprees, ipods, new trendy cell phones, and fancy cars are being put on hold. The US being the known ones to HAVE to have these need too look at the whole pictuere and start saving now for future goals like college, retirement and more. So before you buy those new 50$ kicks think about the economoy. Think about your future.

First Snow Ride

“Wait for me!” I could hear my dad revving up the engine hoping he would wait. As I pull on my snow boots I hear my sister hollering at me telling me to hurry or they were going to leave without me. Sprinting out the back door I managed to grab my scarf and slip on my gloves. Yes! I was relieved they hadn’t left yet. I then hopped in, my mom chasing me with this huge round shiny black thing with straps on the side. “ Mommy, do I really have to wear that?” I hated wearing helmets, but my mom being that overprotective parent strapped it right on me. I had no choice. Oh well, at least I got to go on a ride. Soon as my mom backed out of the way we were off! My first ride in the ‘Cat Cutter’! That’s what it was called. It was a sled with skis on the bottom that we had just bought to hook on the back of our snowmobiles, for us younger kids to ride in. Of course we had snowmobiles because we lived in Rigby, Idaho where once it hit November it snowed until spring.
Wow I loved winter. We drove through the forest behind our house that our neighbors owned. That was the ultimate place for snowmobiling. I could feel the anxiety as my dad pulled back on the throttle making us go faster and faster. Sometimes I actually wondered if he forgot he had kids in the cat cutter behind him, because he was flying though the snow like a teenager that just got their first car. I loved that sound of the cold wet snow landing on the shield of my ‘oh so lovely’ helmet, the cool breeze of the winter air on my neck as my scarf flew behind me. By now all I thought about is the warm, dry, toasty, fireplace at home.
After my dad went around the loop for a while he dropped my siblings and i off in front of our back deck so my other brothers and sisters could have a ride. Then we i ran into the house stripped all my snow stuff of and hung it on the fireplace. Within no time my mom had us bundled up in fleece blankets and a warm cup of hot chocolate, with a handful of marshmallows floating on top.
Oh how I miss those snow rides. Only now are the snowmobiles a pastmemory that only can be reflected on from my child hood. A picture inside my head.

Technology

1. I usually carry my mp3 player with me.

2. The ways i interact with people through technology by email, facebook, myspace, and my phone

3.i usually watch people with new technologies and thats how i learn. i actually think that it is easy to learn new technology. sometimes it can be annoying.

When I was younger I used my house phone and played computer games but other than that I didn’t really know about ipods until one of my friends that was from a different country got one for christmas when i was about 11 years old and then i saved up for one. I would say that the top things on my technology wish list would have to be my own laptop, and a cell phone.
